Meanwhile, Back at Jack's Pond
After the storms rolled through this morning I wandered over to Jack's to shoot more of Linda's spectacular flowers. We were fighting a breeze that made longer exposures impossible. We had both been trying to get a decent angle on this water lily. Because of the background, it was impossible to shoot from this angle. Jack's solution: get down low and shoot the reflection. Here's my attempt at it. This image is a PS composite of two shots: one to capture the reflection, the other for a bit of depth on the surface pads.

Waddaya think? Does this look reasonable to you?

Thanks to Jack for the idea.

Surface: 1/4 sec @ f/16

Chuck,

I haven't looked at my images yet but you have to look at this a while before it makes sense. I really like it. I have a feeling the we saw it "up close & personal" and it may be a bit more appealing to us than others. We'll see...

Rumor has it that next year there may be a Chuck's Pond in the future!. It sure makes life convenient.. just ask Mr Moats!

Whoa! That is certainly different, Chuck!!!! I feel as if I'm looking at the image upside down (it isn't April Fool's Day is it? )

Okay...I'm getting the hang of it now..and I love it!!

Chuck, thanks for the explanation. At first I felt like I had a hangover.
