This was taken on a all to short camping tip with Preston and Reno a few weeks ago.

This is real nice, Dan. I think it captures the mood of the place very nicely. You did a nice job fitting the various elements together. I just love these old junipers!

Dan, I find this to be one of those images that fits the three-for. Bascially, three images from one. If you scroll up and down and do some crops top or bottom it makes the Junipers even more prevelent in the scene overall. All three work for me. Nice shot.

Now that looks more like the pass to me. Towards the top.

Very nice capture, Dan, I especially like the rock field in the FG, that's the way it is  I agree with Paul, there are many individual images in your comp, but when one is actually standing there, sometimes it's hard to pick out a decent one :toast:

Dan,

As I mentioned to Preston, now that I've been there, I have a greater appreciation for the terrain. I love the soft light and colors here. This is very rich in both color and texture. Just as I remember it! At first, I was torn with the rocky foreground. Asthetically, I'm drawn to the junipers and granite. But environmentally, the inclusion of the rocks in the foreground really show the volitility and diversity of the area. I can see what Paul means. But I like this very much.

Preston took me to the same granite slab and I had a hard time picking a composition out of all the possibilities.
