Tawny Owlet (c)
Taken today during a training session with this delightful young Tawny Owl we have called Hollow.

D2X - 200mm F2 VR
ISO100, F4, 1/500thsec
Handheld

(c) in title for captive bred

Sorry about posting a captive bred species, I don't have much time on my hands to go out photographing wild birds at the moment.

Thanks for looking & commenting :toast: :toast:

Captive or not it is still a superb image. Well up to your usual standard.

Hey Vince why not use a more attractive perch? Otherwise a fine shot for sure.

Agree about having a nicer perch.

Still a fine portrait :toast:

I don't care what the bird perches on - a class image Vincent, superb detail :toast: :toast:

For me the perch lets it down. Good job you've nailed the subject though. Great looking Owl :toast:

Thanks for the comments, I see what you mean Tim/Graeme about the perch/gate that was used, that's all I had at the time I'm afraid lol

Really love the detail Vince, especially around the face. Superb image and I don't actually mind the perch.

Beautiful shot of a most endearing and appealing creature. Very sharp indeed round the face. Must be a very good lens and of course...expertly handled!
