Hi all! Anyone has got links to live webcams of the world's top scenics? I think we can post it here so that all can benefit. Even though most of us will never visit those places, it's nice to be able to "travel from the armachair"!

May be links to QTVR panoramas would be nice too!

regards,
Ali

I know of a couple in Alaska. The Alaska Sealife Center in Seward maintains one for the Chiswell Island Stellar sea lion rookery and the Pratt Museum in Homer has three, one of which is actually a link to the National Geographic Society's Bear Cam at McNeill River Bear Refuge. I haven't explored their site, but I suspect the NG link will lead you to lots of other similar operations they maintain.

I love to look at the Mt. Wilson, solar observatory. It is very cool, The camera changes so sometimes it is looking towards the mountains and sometimes toward LA . http://www.astro.ucla.edu/~obs/images/towercam also a radio station in San Diego that has a web cam that overlooks the bay... I like to look at the early in the am when I can't sleep and on a clear nite it is very pretty with the lights twinkling across the bay and you can listen to music at the same time. http://www.sundiegolive.com/ I have more... but I will have to wait until I get home to that computer to look them up! Hope you enjoy! Also, a webcam from the waikiki beach in Honolulu, this is very nice... not maybe so much nature releated, but still very relaxing to view. http://www.honolulu.gov/multimed/waikiki.asp
Okay and this might be my favorite... it is with the national park service... and you can visit several different parks (from your armchair) with weather details included. http://www2.nature.nps.gov/air/WebCams/

The Pratt Museum in Homer via the National Geographic has a video feed to McNeil River Falls to see the bears if anyone is interested.
