Hi I took this image last year and I thought I had lost it for ever along with several thousand more as the Seagate drive they were stored on failed ? After a several quotes from data recovery firms I decided to see if I could find a identical drive, anyway after a long search I managed to find a second-hand one, then I swapped the controller circuitry over from the good drive to the faulty drive with much trepidation I powered it up in a external caddy to my relief it worked and I managed to recover all the files.

If even a few of the thousand were of this quality you must be very relieved. Lovely image

Fantastic story regarding the disk, I have 2005's pics lost on a dead disk, I never really started to seriously look for a pcb replacement as worried about firmware issues. Was your donar exactly identical?
Great Broad bodied by the way.
Hi Tim yes the donor was exactly identical I did try with a newer one but it did not work. you need the right chip set the firmware is not so important.
