I really don't do much bird photography, but here's a photo of a juvenile robin. You can just see 2 or 3 patches of red beginning to appear on the breast.

350D, 70-200mm + 1.4x, 1/200 @ f6.3, ISO100

I was watching one of these little fella's earlier today but without the camera with me, after seeing this I will definately be going to re-visit him/her to try & get a shot of this quality.

A real pleasure to view this, thank you for the inspiration you have given me for tomorrow:toast: :toast:

What a great looking chap.

I love any shots of my fave bird, and this one is spot on aswell. As Vince has said, "a pleasure to view" .

Sweet shot, like the framing, always find the feathers of juvenile robins fascinating.

Very nice, I was going to suggest a slight lift in levels, but the more I look the more I like the tonallity here....

I like this a lot. My first instinct was for a tad more brightness but, like Phil, I am not so sure on looking at the image in detail. Excellent viewing angle and narrow dof lift the bird away from the mown grass (which can be such a killer, if evident). Beautiful, natural looking and nicely detailed image.

Many thanks for the comments everyone. The brightness was something I was debating - but I decided to leave it like this, which was pretty much 'as shot' (a pretty heavy storm was about to hit).

You never know, I might just have another crack at this bird photography malarkey!

Nice pose but it's a pity that the background is so close in tone to the bird. I'd consider cropping a bit off the top.
