Repost-1 year later
Last summer I posted an image of Grand Falls here in Joplin showing a ledge sticking up above the falls. Among the comments was one pointing out that I had cropped right at the top of the falls. Fair enough I would redo the photo, except the water level dropped and I couldn't. Now a year later the level is right, so this morning I drug my sorry self out of bed, went down & tried again, making sure to leave room to crop above the falls and still avoid the dam which is why I cropped tight in the first place. How did I do?

Canon Rebel XTi, Sigma 17-70 lens, F10 1/5 second and tripod on full extension. Stepladder for extra height brought along but not used.

Hi Bruce,

I seem to remember a similar post from last year. I like what you have done here, good comp with the water falling over the ledge, Your shutter speed is nicely done turning the water into the "cotton candy" appearance. Nice job with this one!. :toast:

Bruce, I too recall the last post. This one is wonderful and I particularly like how the water moves through the frame (and over the fall) at various angles & directions. Very nice shot! :toast:

This is nice, Bruce - I really like the feeling of motion in the lower left of the frame.

Looks like you've had plenty of rain up your way, Bruce. The creeks have been running almost full some days, but drop quickly.

I too remember your post from last year, and I like this better. Have you tried a B&W conversion?
