I recently picked up a 4X5 camera. I am wondering if anyone has some spare empty 4X5 boxes that I can use for a while to hold my film until I get it developed and I get a few empty boxes of my own.
As an alternative, are there any shops you would recommend that have light proof mailers for 4X5?
Also, I'm wondering who does black and white 4X5 development. I spoke with Accent Photo in Colorado Springs and they only do E-6 these days.
Mel - I don't have any spare boxes, but if you go into you local lab (Accent?) they should have some. Photocraft gave me a few when I was first getting started. Speaking of Photocraft, they do b&w 4x5. Check out www.pcraft.com.
I do B/W development but before working with you will need to consult on what you are looking for and then identify the best dev combination for you. B/W is really tricky. Unless you calibrate your film to developer your results will be mediocre. Most of the developers i use are hand crafted from scratch to accomplish specific purposes (ie: D76-H, D23, multi bath developers, pyro etc). E6 is fine to send out and I love giving my busines to Brent at Qube (like the plug Brent?) But B/W is a different bird since labs are not in the business of calibrating their development schedule per individual sheets of film.
