I have been lurking for some time and enjoying the marvelous work posted by the members here. It has been amazing to watch the grow and development through the generous exchange of ideas and techniques. I hope that I might profit some as well.
My first post is a wildflower that I picked up in a swamp in south Mississippi back in the spring. Minor cropping with default sharpening in Lightroom.

Welcome Don! Glad to have you aboard. Your first post is a very interesting flower. Beautiful control of the whites revealling very nice detail and a good background too. Given the wild petals of this bloom radiating outward, I might have been tempted to fill the entire frame with them.
I love spider lilies, and is one wildflower (of many I'm sure) you get down in the lowlands that we don't see up here in the hills! Let's see more swamp flowers!

Welcome Don! Such interesting flowers you have here - wish they grew further north!
Hi, Don - looks like we have two Dons now This is really a nice first post. I would imagine these guys are some of the most difficult to photograph, but this is wonderful. Look forward to seeing more!

Really neat flowers. Its funny to see these posted as I just saw a patch of them next to the interstate between LR and Conway(by the swamp).
What an interesting flower. Very nice job with the exposure and the background! I do agree with moving the crop to the right and eliminating the empty space on the left. There is enough space between the petals on this one.
