Old Growth Cascade | July 2007
This scene was shot while hiking up a creek Monday morning.
The show was too wide to get what I wanted in one shot so I decided to go for a 3 shot pano....
I know there is not much water showing here but I was going for more of a focus on the forest and light that was coming though the canopy of leaves.

Thanks for taking the time to look and leave a comment or critique

I like this quite a bit, Darren. Even though there is little water, it still works well. Nice framing. Good processing work too. It's been noticably better from you lately. Looks like you missed a couple water spots though.

Darren,
i like this shot a lot although i feel like it lacks focus and for me the composition isn't the best.
however, i've walked something like 60 miles of streams doing stream surveys and this has a genuine feel, it has depth, draws you in to the scene, and has a very honest feel of what it was like to be there. add the scent of stink currant and you're there.

where was this ? is this a confluence of 2 streams ? is that a big clay cliff in the background?

Very nice Darren, Your exposure is spot on, the green's and the detail in this shot is awesome. I also like the beige from the hillside beyond, that really is a nice complement to this image.

Hi Darren,

Very nice job! It has a very natural feel to it, I particularly like the darkness of the stream, not too dark, but just enough to give you that feeling that your under the trees.

If that's three images stiched together you did a great job stiching. Nicely done.

Very nice, Darren! What water is visible leads the viewer into the scene of an oh, so typical lush green PNW forest. I like it a lot.

I'm struggling a bit with the three trees that come together in a dark mass on the left edge - it pulls away from the big tree trunk on the right as the main focus, though I don't necessarily see a crop that would do much on this front. I like the very long exposure with a summer scene - creates a very quiet mood.

I also like this one Darren. I think you did a good job of conveying what you intended to.
