A month or so ago, I wrote to this forum inquiring about locations in western Nebraska & S. Dakota to possibly photograph. Well, I've returned from my trip and want to post a few photos. I'm in the midst of scanning, so the images might sorta dribble out...
The shot of this location was the primary reason for my trip. It's a "secret" location to which I was lead about thirty years ago, while studying in western Nebraska. The best that I can do is narrow it down to Keith County, as the rancher who owns the land doesn't particularly enjoy visitors or inquiries. But, I do believe that it's a little piece of prairie nirvana.
Tech stuff: Fuji G617, f/45, 1/2", polarizer, Velvia 100, and minimal manipulation in PS...
It looks like you found a good location. I was in NE last week and there were photo opps in every direction. I was on a 66 mile bike ride near Boyer Chute. It is a great area that I would like to spend more time at.

Nirvana is right, this is really pretty scenery. This must have been strikingly similar to what frontier explorers encountered Tim. Thanks for sharing!
Tim, that indeed looks like a great place and it's always nice to have a "secret" place or two to enjoy. I can't blame the rancher for wanting to keep it that way. In many cases, the ranchers are some of the best conservationists in terms of preserving large areas of relatively natural land.
I really like the pano and can't wait to see more of your images.

Sure looks like a great place to build a golf course.
