Thanks all. John, no I didn't use a hide as the location is right at the bottom of a steep cliff face looking over a gulley where the birds were. Me and another photog have been visiting the site regularly over the last few weeks so the kestrels seem to have got used to our presence. In fact the last time I was there it wasn't until I'd been sat down for 10 mins that I noticed a juv. kestrel sitting about 8 feet away from me, they are so well camoflagued in that environment.
