Poland: Ruff walking past my hiding place.
From another region of untamed rivers, which flood during winter and attract lots and lots of birds on migration.
We were told about a flock of Ruffs, passing through this area and sure enough, there were lots but difficult to get close. They only stayed a few days and were gone again on their way south.
Anyway, this one approached us whilst we were hidden under nets, very early in the morning.
Great birds, never seen by me before.
