Monitor/PS help

I just purchased a LG-196WTQ monitor (wide screen) and when I go to P/S elements 5 I get a message "Monitor profile appearsw to be defective" any ideas? The colors and sharpness are lacking IMO.
I would appreciate any help or advice.

Just wondering...all LCD monitors have a "native resolution", this is the setting that it will be sharpest, I believe for this model its 1440 X 900, have a look and see what res its set to. If its not at 1440X900, try it at that and you should see a vast difference.
