Moonset on Meyers Beach
I finally got to see the full moon setting on the ocean last month!
My skills in low light digital photography are kinda weak but I wasn't going to pass up a chance to practice on this view.

Nikon D-200 24mm&F-4 17sec.

Larry,
This is one original picture. You've made the moon masquerade as the sun here! I like it a lot. The reflections, the contrast between cool and warm hues, everything makes an eye catching photo.

Same here Jesse. The dark upper left bothered me too but I wasn't able to bring it up without washing out detail in everything else, (Paint Shop Pro 11) I did rework the noise in the sky since posting it though.... I'll post it now and thanks for your input!

What.......you didn't like my take on it.....

I like the dark saturated colors.....had no idea it was the moon

Did too! I was gonna give you my verdict on your re-do last nite but the all-day rain got my beer fridge in an uproar that took all evening to calm down! I think it's jealous of the road-trip cooler! :toast:

Interesting effect. Was that mist that created the luminosity?

Very cool image, I like. Great job pulling off the exposure on this one.

It was too dark to see the mist on the ocean-side from my vantage David...I expect there was some and the long exposure probably added to it's effect, but i suspect the major cause was in bring this image out of the dark. I was a couple stops underexposed.
