Another shot from Lower Metlako Falls, this is the main cascade. I was packing up to leave, disappointed I was unable to scale the wall there in the lower right, when I saw this mystical late evening light coming through the trees on the falls. Needless to say I started snapping away.
Not sure if the lack of a foreground hurts this shot, but I love the water and rocks playing together, it was pretty cool being right up next to that falling water for a little bit.
Canon Pro 1, 1/4 sec @ f/5.6
In case you are curious as to my climbing efforts, I was able to grab a handhold with one hand that was just the the first leaves visible on that tiny ridge on the lower right. Try as I might, I just wasn't strong enough to get my feet onto something, unfortunately the rocks are of course extreme slick, and the current there is really strong, so by the time I would have the hold and try and lift my feet, the current was pulling them like crazy away and under water. We need a real rock climber to get up there and lay a rope for us mortals, Mark?

Andy....when are we going hiking together......
The first thing I noticed was the beautiful warm light here..
Darren, we should go do something stupid together. You know whats on my list is upper east fork falls, which is wayyy up the eagle creek trail. We would have to descend from the whatum lake trail or bushwhack from the eagle creek trail
This is pretty cool, Andy - kudos for thinking beyond the standard Spring green scene for this shot. It makes for a very colorful image.
I could sworn that I saw you at the sandwich shop in front of my building - almost walked up to your look-alike, then retreated when I decided it wasn't you..! I'm sure the guy would have freaked a bit... unless it WAS you..?
