This is the next shot I'll be posting in ESS I think.
I had a real variety of weather while I was up here, which is always a good thing IMO. This was my last night in the park, the night before it rained hard all night, so it was a real treat to have a beautiful tranquil evening. This is definitely in my top 3 favorite places I've ever been. I was also lucky to have the moon rising at sunset this evening.

Awesome shot, I like it all, comp and exposure, that mountain is glowing so nicely. The only thing I see is that tree on the right is very tilted in the reflection, might want to correct it a tad.

Andy, that tree really is leaning like that, if you look at the surrounding trees you can see that they are just fine.
Stunning shot, Zack !! What a beautiful direct view of the mountain from here !! How were the mosquitoes ? My family hiked up to Pamelia lake and they were minimal there, but a group of boy scouts had come from Britenbush and said they were like clouds....

The mosquitoes were terrible, I was lathering up in bug juice constantly.

Great soft light on the mountain Zack. This has very nice shadow detail and color. The rocks on the lake bottom will provide a cool foreground in a larger print. Nice work!

Zack, this turned out great. You got good use out of that moon and found a nice, quiet cove. The angle of lighting shows the texture on the mountain in relief and adds really rich warmth here. Beautiful!
I'll second that this is one of the most magical places I have ever visited. We are so lucky to have this area protected as roadless wilderness. It was nice to meet you up there and I hope that blister didn't cause too much trouble on the way down!
Cheers,
Mike

Hey Mike, it was nice to meet you and your girlfriend up there as well, amazingly the heel blisters did not bother me at all on the way down, I bandaged it up really well and then duct taped it over for good measure, that stuff comes in so handy, I think everyone should carry some in their camera bag, it has saved my hide many times in the field. Anyway, I hope you guys had a beautiful sunset up there last night.

Nice shot, Zack - I like the very wide view showing the full bulk of the mountain. Beautiful!

Love the tranquility of the image as it really makes me want to be there. I also like the grand perspective of this image and the clouds on the right are a nice touch
I absolutely love this place too. Hard not to fall in love with it. I wish I could make it up here in winter sometime too.
This is a great image. Beautiful, and perfectly processed. Not the best clouds, but still better than none at all.

Oh yeah, some clouds rolled in just before sunset--real nice ones, but pushed off to the southwest right before the color kicked in. If I'd been down by Russel Lake, they would have been in the frame.
