Another from Varanger, Norway. A Great Black-backed Gull snatched a Common Eider duckling, and was immediately attacked byt the mother. Needless to say she couldn't do anything, and when another Gull quickly arrived a 'Tug of war' took place for quite a while.
I'm undecided whether to crop further and loose the alarming Oystercatcher, or not ?
A good shot showing the parasitic actions of these gulls. I've seen them (& other gulls species) attacking the chicks on land, but thought they where relatively safe once in the water...now I know better!
I'd leave the Oyster in as it shows the mobbing behaviour.

Great capture Helge I would definitely keep the Oystercatcher in. Nature is cruel at times.

Very good behavioural shot. You seem to have a knack for these type of action images. I too would keep the oystercatcher; it seems to add to the general chaos of the situation.
