Little owl
Taken today I have been after some little owl images for ages although we have some at the farm where we keep the horses they are not approachable, anyway I went to check on the peregrines to see if they have fledged they are still feeling the chicks even though they have fledged the nest, luckily the little owl did breed in the quarry as well as Raven, although the light was poor this morning I did manage to get 1 or 2.

Hi Phillip,

Nice image showing off the great camo/plumage these Owl's have.

The whole of the right of the image in the BG looks very strange  compared to the left?

Have you noticed this? Good to hear the Peregrines are doing well, sounds like we are going to get White Tailed Sea Eagles before breeding Peregrines here in Suffolk :frown:

Regards

Hi Rob I think it is because the background on the right-hand side is actually further away than the background on the left hand side, the sigm 800 seems to give a strange out of focus areas at a certain distance with certain backgrounds,

The peregrines managed to fledge 3 young considering the bad weather we have been having the raven got 4 young away and the little owl has 3 young.

Very nice, showing how well he is blending in to the branches.

Hi Phillip - nice image.

Yep, Sig 800 has pretty vile bokeh at some distances - my sigmonster is just the same. I'm just a bit curious as to what the 'blue' bit is towards the bottom rh corner

Hi Phillip nice shot of the Owl just a pity about all the branches. Nice to hear success with the Perg. We have just lost two young Peregrines at the nest with poisoning. Shocking.

What a little sweetie. Shot a bit too busy for my liking but the subject itself is very nice.
Might it be better perhaps to crop the top bit off and have a square shot of the little owl?
