loch lochy
Done practically no landscapes at all ,but i was in scotland earlier this year so i thought id have a go. This was taken early morning at loch lochy. It had been raining most of the night ,but was clearing as the mist was trying to lift as the day broke. Any comments gratefull.
Regards. Matt.

I like the fencing leading into the water and the low level cloud  .

But a thin black line around the pic would be nice, cuz the mist/low cloud is blending into the white page.

Nice image Matt - tonnes of potential here. You seem to have a fairly heavy red cast - I'm not sure if that is because it is dawn or not and your horizon is also sloping a little. Personally I love sloping horizons when used well whereas most landscapers don't seem to be-able to deal with them at all. But here it doesnt really add anything so is worth correcting. The composition works fairly well. If I was approaching this the first shot that comes to mind is a vertical. It may not work at all but perhaps try going up high directly above the fence and use it as a strong receding lead in line to the mountains and mist. One of many possibilities. Finally it would be worth using a graduated neutral density to hold back a little detail in the clouds. Alternatively take two exposures and blend them. Really nice to see more landscapes here – please keep them coming! Thanks, Tristan

Great image overall :toast:

Horizon is sloping r to l a tad and you really need some seperation in the low cloud - grad ND's in the bag next time Matt
