Since I haven't been out shooting much this summer (not landscapes, anyway... focusing on abstract work these days) I have been processing lots of photographs from years past... here is one from my trip to the Tetons Fall 2005. Morning fog coming off the Snake River, from the Blacktail Ponds Overlook. Canon 10D, 17-40L.
I love this shot Nat. First of all, it instantly makes me yearn for fall backpacking trips. Secondly, the frozen mist on the evergreens, makes me think I can almost smell the damp cold air. And of course, the obvious feature, there's the other-worldly light on the Tetons.
The scene seems to beckon me to take a stroll straight into that forest, and just disappear in the mist for a while.
I'd go one step further with the foreground and crop it just below the first little trees. I don't think the foreground scrub adds anything. Really amazing fog though!
