Wave of fire....
Still going through stuff from last year. I guess a good long break is good sometimes, gives you a fresh perspective. I originally didn't like any I had of the seond wave, but I like this. I think the square crop adds something....do you? Thanks for lookin

Love the full range of contrast here. Looks like an astroid in space. :jump:

Is that blackness in the LLC water?

Jeez... first a perfect photo of Crown Point, then a perfect photo of Jeff Park... then this..? Sheesh...! Truly amazing work around here! Well done, Jeremy. This is "art" for sure.

Thank all, I appreciate it.

Tom, "Jeff Park" pics are by Zach or Mike, but thanks for thinking I could've taken those great pics.

Mark, yep that is water. It is black at every exposure level I had, must've been the angle or something....?

Sweet shot and square works - amazing the exposure latitude from lit stone to the shadow stone.....

Sorry to be confusing - yes, I was just lumping you all together as great photographers! Very nice work, all three of you!

I'm not real sure why it looks so dark in the FG and BG, cause in the TIFF you can clearly see detail in the shadows. Might be the JPEG compression or something? Thanks agian.

Oh, now THAT blows my mind! :jump:

Oooof, this is nice. If you're losing detail in the web version, check to see if you're editing under a different color profile than your working profile in PS - can sometimes affect the dark channels.

Jeremy, this is beautiful. Very surreal looking and powerful. I like everything about it. Better scour your archives, cause if you are overlooking stuff like this, you are bound to have more.

Great shot, I really like the flow you have captured here....

You do wonders with your SW shots. Really nice curves, contrast, comp. This would look great at 40 X 40 on a wall!

Great flow, great saturation and colors. I hope to get down there one of these days.

Really love the curves and light contrast on display here.

It's a great shot but I would have worked with that black water a bit, I think you could have come up with a real unique shot of a oft photographed scene.
BTW. I have a way more standard version of this that my Mom insisted be one of the photos is our Interpretations show. I didn't want it because it was so standard but she really did. As it turned out, it was the first piece of the show to sell and I've sold it once again since.

Mark, weren't you hit by a truck....?

I hear ya on the water, but if you notice that the hill directly in front of me is in shadow, that is the only thing reflecting is shadow, there is not a whole I could do with it, maybe pull a tiny bit of green murky water out. In the tiff there is some shadow detail in the water, like i said, just not sure why everything around it blackened so much during the conversion. I'll work it later. I don't really think there are too many unique compositions of this left. I know I wanted thebackground to be in shadow, and the rest, well what you see is what you get, standard or not. I'm glad I have it in my portfolio. Thanks

Yeah, I'm speaking from the dead.

Even as you've done it, I think the darkness in the LLC adds immensely to the photo. It does make it different and adds a bit of weirdness to it.

If I was joe schmoe stepping in off the street I wouldn't know what in the heck this is, but I'd say it has nice leading lines and is a pleasing image. I like the black around it, and like Jerry said up above, it does look like an asteroid in space... Great sense of depth and mystery here.
