Another one from the Jefferson Park trip. I was visualising a shot of lupines by a bubbling creek and the lighting on this one jumped out to me. And it's been my experience so far that good light is more important than good composition. I'd like to hear from anyone who has comments on the photo or that last statement!
glad to see ya had some blooms along that creek. I dont know about it being awesome lighting, but both are equally important. One can take a picture of the perfect sunset with the most beautiful colors, bit with no other element, the image becomes boring real fast.
This is a nice image. I'd probably prefer it to be a little more figgy up in there for this type of shot.
Great looking flowers in there, Mike. I think the bg is a little vacant; to keep attention more toward the fg, how about a crop off the top? I was thinking to just below the brown part in the center bg... And, uh, what's so wrong about the comp?
I think this is really gorgeous Mike. Your shots always have a really nice, refined look to them. And I agree, the light is the MOST important thing in my book. I might take a touch off the top. The scene seems more lush towards the bottom.
Wow, this is very beautiful. I like the light and the depth of the image.

Thanks all. I agree about the crop--just a hair off the top helps (fog would have helped also). If you could see the other pictures I took in the immediate area, this one sticks out with a different look to it--kind of like an oil painting to me-- and I just attributed it to the light.
