West Quoddy Lighthouse Sunrise - Lubec ME
Just returned from a week in Maine & Canada and wanted to share a few photos from the trip. Maine is an incredible place, difficult to get to but worth the effort. The weather changes in minutes not hours and you can be completely fogged in without warning.

In addition to the pictures shown in this link http://www.rhodusphotography.com/maine_2007.htm we saw moose, black bear, bald eagles, harbor seals, porposes, meinke & finback whales.

This shot is of the West Quoddy Lighthouse. It sits on the easternmost projection of land in the United States. I felt kind of priviledged on this particular day as I was the first person in the entire United States to see the sun rise on our nation that morning. Shortly after taking this shot (pre sunrise) I stood alone on the edge of the nation by myself and simply soaked in the magnificent sunrise. It was absolutely moving. Hope you enjoy!

Wayne, that is really a nice shot, as well as, the rest of your gallery. Glad you made it back safely. Did you get the ND filter for the trip?

Wayne, beautiful shot. Great shots in the gallery - I especially like the fishing boat in the fog. It has a very quiet mood to it.

Wow, what a trip, Wayne. I love the soft warm light here, beautifully done! And the B&W lobster boat image in your gallery is stunning. Glad you had such a productive trip. :wavey:

HI Wayne
This is a beautiful shot. I love the colors of the lighthouse and the sky makes the shot. I looked at you other images and they are very good also. They make me want to go eat lobster and shrimp from Red Lobster, probobly my favorite restaraunt. This one is my favorite though. It souds like you and your wife had a great time. I have never been to this area and it sounds very neat. It's always fun to explore new places you have never seen before. I was wondering if the book from amazon was very good. I thought this place had to be featured from the book.
Regards
Gale

Thanks for the comments everyone, much appreciated. I know some of the photos were of a "vacation" vein but they kind of completed the whole experience.

Gale, yes the book was very helpful and I appreciate the thoughtfulness. Interestingly, the price for seafood meals were no cheaper than they are in the midwest, strange .....
