Except for the sky (which needed a 4-stop GND)and the falls itself, the rest of the scene was within about 4 stops DR, thanks to the reflected light from the canyon. One of the few scenes where I think bright daylight works better than dawn/dusk light.

I love this shot, especially where you caught the light falling on the cottonwoods.

Nice color in the rock and the foilage. I'd like to see more of the falls though, it seems to disappear. Tough light, nice job.
Hey Rich...yes, we should head out shooting when you're in the bay area. As for the blown highlights in the falls, could not be helped. I bracketed 4 stops, and it was still not enough. This was near mid-day sun, and could not wait for better light - was with family!
Kalin - I would've loved the falls to be in full flow, but when I was there, there was barely a trickle. In fact, what you see in this snap was the occasional large flow due to the wind blowing the water over the edge.

Nice to see you again. Now that you live out west we'll need to hookup more often.
Great shot. only nits are the blown highlights in the falls and it feels a little bit too warm.
