One of my goals this summer was to shoot some yellowhead blackbirds. But not only have I not gotten any pictures, I've not even seen one. In fact, I haven't seen one in three or four years. Does anyone out there in cyberland know where I can get said photo opportunities within a reasonable driving distance of the Twin Cities?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I don't have an answer for you John, but if you want to check in with a group of minnesota photographers who are predominantly "birders", I would post your question on http://www.cameratalk.org/. I would be surprised if someone didn't have an answer for you.

Best of luck!

I do a lot of hiking in western Wisconsin and I have also been looking for the yellow-headed blackbird and haven’t seen one for a number of years. They used to be fairly common.

John, how about a nice Yellowstone vacation! Maybe "your" birds have moved west, as there are lots of them out here!
