B&W gone dark
Thought i would go all black and white for my next Flora shot.Trying to be different again  .

Sorry i dont know the I.D for the flower, but they look like huge daisy's ?.

Converted to B&W and went dark via Contrast, Levels, Curves etc etc.

20D - EF500 f4 L - ISO 100 - 1/400 @ f4

C & C welcome

Thank you for looking and for your comments

Hi Alan,

I think that they could be Ox-eye Daisy's, but I could be wrong  .
A nice shot which has alot of appeal IMO, and nice use of the long lens too!

Regards Chris

Hi Alan,

Not an expert on flowers but I think Chris is right with his ID.....

I'm afraid that this doesn't quite work for me, the conversion is very well done, but the OOF bg just seems to intrude, it may have worked better had the three dominant elements been further isolated perhaps with a black velvet bg, or you concentrate on the bottom half with just the two elements......

Just thoughts, certainly an idea that you can explore.

All the best

Hello Alan
I have to agree with Phil, it oesn't work for me either. I find my attention being drawn to the top OOF flower.
Best wishes

The idea of the shot is very good , I think and looks very dramatic. The oof blobs top left and right bother me though.
