If you're considering getting into large format printing (or adding to your repertoire) you might want to check a deal at ITSupplies.com. With the release of the Canon ipf5100, the ipf5000 is on sale for nearly what I spent on my I9900 a couple of years ago. I love the results I get from this printer! The only downside so far has been the ink price.
Just thought I'd pass on the info.

Thanks for the info Kalin. I've been using the i9900 at work now for a couple of years and it has been great. Nice to know Canon is improving their already impressive line.

I loved the prints from the i9900, but it doesn't get such a good archival rating does it? Is the iPF5000 better?

I have an i9900 too. The prints look nice but don't last very long. I don't know about the archival ratings of any other Canon printers. If I was in the market for a large format printer, I would seriously consider HP's z3100.
