Olympus in the Mist
Seen a lot of great photos here recently. Not sure if this will fall in that group...

Added the rock to this comp as I felt that something sharp (not in the mist) was needed. Do you find this distracting? Any other comments/suggestions are appreciated.

High Divide, Olympic NP
D200, 12-24 (at 22mm), no filters

Nice atmosphere and processing. The rock on the left makes it seem a bit heavy towards that side; otherwise everything else is on.

I really enjoyed perusing your portfolio; a stunning collection of images. I especially connect with the images from the north cascades.

Trevor, I was about to say the same thing about yours. As beautiful as the N Cascades are, there seems to be a shortage of great images. Keep up the good work and I'll look forward to seeing more of your work.

I like the mist and peaks, the foreground snow doesn't add much, Was moving in front of the rock a option?

I think adding something in the foreground was a good idea, but the rocks are too big and too far to the left, making the comp seem unbalanced to me. I do like the soft light.

David, did you use the D200 for the photos in your galleries? Just curious. Outstanding work.

As for the shot in question... I'd like to see it without the rock. I'm thinking the snow in the foreground might tie in with the snow on the mountain.

I'm not a landscape guy, but I really like the rock on the left. Besides the nice light hitting it, it appears to have a lot of textures and colors.
