I have an opportunity to sell a supply of postcards and posters to a local state park for their gift store. I'm pretty excited about it, as it's my first real exposure (not counting family!)

The park wants to buy the finished product from me, which is fine -- except I don't know where to have the postcards and posters printed. I've googled "postcard printing" and all the results seem to be geared toward promotional pieces, not traditional postcards with pretty pictures on the front. Ditto for printing posters

I know I'm not the first one to have postcards and posters printed. I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions from the most knowledgeable group on the internet!

For postcards, I recommend Overnightprints.com. I have used them many times to produce traditional 4" x 6" postcards with a glossy finish on the front and a matte finish on the back.

Not sure I can help you with posters.

Best regards,

Paul

I've never had them produced for a commercial product, but I have had postcards made from a local print shop and through Vista Print. The print shop had better card stock, but they were a pain to work with because they were a little lacking in the IQ department. They made me have to set up mechanicals for them and all this print production technical stuff. Totally unnecessary, I told them afterwards all they had to do was just cut where the ink stops. Sheesh! They were so accustomed to their traditional print production ways that they could not handle something as common sense as cutting along the dotted line.

Vista Print looks good too but had thinner card stock, the plus side is that they are signifanctly cheaper and very easy to get what you want produced.

I've used Psprint for notecards and been very happy with the results -- I know they also do postcards and I think they do posters as well. Please let us know who you finally go with and how you like them, as I'm sure others (myself included) are interested in doing postcards and/or posters at some point.

For postcards I recommend http://www.printsmadeeasy.com/ without reservation. They do amazing work for an almost unreal price.

I have a friend who has used Modern Postcard (www.modernpostcard.com) and the quality has always been excellent. Haven't tried them myself, but they look great.

Thanks to all -- you've given me a lot of options to check out. If anyone's interested, I'll post a followup later. I appreciate it.

I'm with Dena...I've used modernpostcard.com dozens of times with my marketing clients, and the results are always outstanding. Plus, pricing is excellent, about $125 for 500 pieces.

Good luck!
