Second year White river falls
Last year I posted a shot of this falls from june 2006. This one is from June 2007. Light was better this year. Black specks are cliff swallows, hundreds of them. The back falls are near 1/4 mi.away. I have googled the falls and can't find a really great shot by anyone. Next year I will make a trip in May as vegetation is already dry by June. Any thoughts or comments on this. Anyone else have any shots?

I think the relatively fast shutter speed works on this one, Jerry - conveys the force and magnitude very well. Not so sure about the dust specs... er, cliff swallows! This is really an exotic scene for Oregon. If you didn't know where this was, you'd guess anywhere but here!

Greg Lief has posted these shots of this falls. He solved the vegetation problem by converting them to b&w images.

I'll have to check these out sometime - Neat! Jerry, are you still doing the car show at Beach's on Wednesdays? or is that over?? I'd like to meet up with you sometime to take some images there..

This is the best image I've ever seen of these falls Jerry. I searched the net for images and found very little as well. By mid May this year it was already brownish and I'm not sure how tall the water is a month earlier but it's well worth looking into considering this viewpoint.

I also shot this back in June, under much sunnier skies however. I was quite pleased with the results. Don't have anything online at the moment, however.

nice work Jerry! I agree with Tom on the shutter speed. Those look to be disiduous trees... How would this look in the Fall?

Thanks all. Tom, enjoyed the B&Ws. Maybe April is the time. Water level and color must change quickly as the origin is the White Glacier on Mt Hood.
