I was wondering if anyone new of a book or website with info on building you own professional digital dark room. Doing my flat and can start from scratch with my 'computer room'.
Computer.......most will do the job now
Back-up drives......Good quality, better to go for a few smaller capacity drives rather than one huge one.
Monitor........One, two or more good quality flat screens. Don't get too hung up on spec, go with what looks and feels right to you.
Decent desk......I use a modular desk system and add to it as my mess expands. You can never have enough desk-space!
Decent chair....Obvious, but often over looked
Good lighting.
Printer.....If you are going to use a photo printer make sure that you buy a cheap one as well for doing the invoices, letters, general printing and save the photo machine for photos
System calibrator....One-Eye, Monaco Optix etc Get what you see on the screen to match what every one else sees on their screen. If your calibrator allows it also get your photo printer profiled for each different media you use.
