I love the pillars of rock around Latourell Falls, and have been trying to figure out ways to capture them. This is from my attempt at it this morning.

This is great Richard. I love the unique take on the area!
I wish there was a little more detail in the basalt though. This looks like it would be a good candidate for an ND grad placed over the grass so that you could get more light on the rock...

Thanks. I usually use my split neutral grad on the sky, and forget to use it in scenes like this.

Second version--I tried to show more detail in the basalt.
Never would've thought of an angle of view like that. Nice going Richard. I like all the lichen on the rocks, too.

I know what you mean--those columns are an impressive sight. This is a cool, unique concept. The grass in the corner adds some contrast, but on balance pulls too much attention from the columns, IMO. Were you able to get one with just the columns? It would be interesting to see one without the grass.
Richard,
Definatly a different take from the normal from these falls. The rock does have a green cast on both of my computers.

I see the color cast as well. Nice job with trying something new. I think you are on to something here. It needs something though, that I cannot put my finger on...hmmm.
