Went looking for Grouse at the weekend. Too many noisy people (even at 6am in the morning ) imposing their world on others and I truely gave up when the beat boxes started blaring as bored rock rats waited for their weekend fix; I much prefer Mountaineers; yes I am getting a GOM!
Went and had a long tea and flap-jack at Outside and took this whilst I was leaving, the noise still blasting ... it's a split world!!
600mm/car&BB
1000'/F6/250ASA
All processing applied to image as a whole, I just payed with the Saturation in the green, blue and cyan channels to get a B&W distant, non-sunlite, BG
Photo not really for critique, subject of noisy people open..
It's an interesting idea. In my opinion, there is just too much colour for this composition, or it might be that contrast in B&W part is too low?
Cheers,
Marko

Tom,
Don't get me started on noisy people. Why, oh why must they think the world revolves around them They are not the only ones in the world - there are other people as well. Now must go and lie down before my blood really starts to boil!
I've never come across anyone at this time of day high on the moors. Very unfortunate. Looks like a very interesting place! Tristan

Hi Tom,
I to was at the Peak District Friday morning at around 6.30am doing exactly the same thing, with Geoff Simpson. Great place...............
Not a single grouse, did see a wren on a rock. i think the grouse have gone on holiday, before the glorious 12th arrives
Yes, 'The Peak' is really nice, I was back this morning, could hear plenty of Grouse, seen a few in the distance, but didn't get close enough. Seen the Wren (x4) and got a few photos of Stonechat so all not lost..
T
PS Geoff must be losing his touch as it's unlike him not to find Grouse! Ah well such is nature photography
