Here's another from Mount Hood this week - this is a late afternoon view from one of the avalanche swales located just east of WyEast Basin, cropped down somewhat from the original view. Lots of avalanche lilies still in bloom, too. Tried a lighter version, but it looked a bit washed out... is this too dark? Comments and suggestions appreciated, as always!

Nice light and scene .Nothing really stands out in that mass of foreground, Tom. It makes it kind of look messy. In this particular area, I would pick out an element of most interest, e.g., the lupine, and opt for a tighter crop with hood. I think vertical orientation would be most conducive to this area. Also, I would bring out the shadows a bit more.

Thanks, Trevor - I'll try the vertical format. I agree on the lack of a foreground focus... maybe I'll paste some flowers into the photo? (...or maybe a doe and fawn..?) I might need to head back up there again!
