Took a trip up to RMNP a week ago to see if any wildflowers were still hanging around. Found an awesome meadow filled with Bee Balm. Will post a pic soon. Decided to go up early and see what the sunrise would bring as well. Didn't feel like going for a hike, so I just walked around to the north side of Bear Lake to shoot sunrise looking into Glacier Gorge. One of these days I gotta try this spot at sunset.

Nikon D200, 18-35mm, circular polarizer and 3-stop soft GND, cropped to 4x5 to remove the worst of the uneven polarization of the sky due to the wide angle of view

Hi Doug,
Nice shot, I have been at that spot many times. Erik S has a great shot about 200 vertical feet above this spot, at sunset, in the fall. Definitely head back there in September!

Beautiful spot! I would suggest burning in the upper left and right corners to match the center section of the sky.

I'd reduce the yellow. This is nice, though. A little troubled by those brown trees over there. CS4 will need a "replace beetle-killed tree" tool.

This is one of the most perfect reflections I've ever seen at Bear Lake. It does look a little too warm, and maybe tilted a little bit clockwise judging from the trees. I'm not sure why you need a polarizer on this shot.

I love that color of morning light on the trees... makes me want to get back outside!

I knew my recent road trip through the devestated forest would traumatize me--now the beetle killed trees really 'bug' me. But i love the comp--nice soft light!

Todd - I backed off the yellow five points. Maybe I should back off another five points.
Tony - My bubble level indicated I was horizontal, but I agree there appears to be a little tilt to this. Not sure why though. I used the polarizer to bring out the reflection more.

Very nice! I like the details and the colors.

Sweet view and beautiful light, Doug. The yellow hits me when I first view it, then it's tough to pick up on. But that first impression makes me think a little less yellow wouldn't hurt.

Regarding the tilt, the shoreline gives the appearance of a slight tilt, but anytime the shoreline is coming towards you or moving away, that will happen. When I notice it, I may 'unlevel' the camera to make the shoreline appear level, assuming it doesn't significantly skew anything else.
