A mile or two above Mohawk Lake there are a couple of unnamed lakes. This is the second highest. It features an impressive rock face that plunges almost to the water's edge.
I think the composition leaves a little to be desired. The left quarter doesn't add much to the image and there's a tuft of grass poking up at bottom center that's a minor annoyance. Is the upper right corner too tight?
Processing stuff:
Here we go again. This slide was a lot easier to work with than some of my other recent efforts. The scan looked pretty good except for a magenta cast especially on the left half. I'm wondering if I pulled back the magenta too much. Is there a slight green cast on the left?
The sky was a little thin so I selected it and created a new layer in multiply mode with an opacity around 30% and now the density looks better to me. It also had too much cyan and I think I got that under control.
Anything else I missed?
Cheers,

Man, I've been up above Mohawk Lakes a few times and never saw this! What a killer shot! Your processing looks perfect, too.

Cool rock face!
I think the color balance is OK but to my eye the light on the rock face is a little harsh. I'd try to darken it a little and increase the contrast. If I were doing this, I'd use a luminosity mask to select the bright whites and couple that to a curves adjustment layer, then lower and steepen the curve at the point where the tones on the rock face are.
Looks like a nice location.

I'd guess that this is something that is going to look better printed than on screen due to the light tones, but I think the processing looks really good.
Mohawk Lakes is one of my favorite areas and I'll probably be back there in a couple weeks. Unfortunately it is alot of other people's favorite area and it gets a bit crowded. Thanks for the motivation to get an earlier start.

Looks nice, however I agree that the rocks on the right might look better if darkened a bit, especially near the water.
