Decided last week that I couldn't wait any longer to try out the EOS 1D MkIII so picked one up on Thursday and gave it it's first outing Monday on butterflies in local woodland.
At this stage I cannot comment on the cameras autofocus but the file quality IMO is amazing especially at higher iso settings.
Hello david
certainly the right subject to try the higher ISO on and a beautiful result too; I wish I could afford one!
Best wishes
Phil

Hi David
Great colours, simple but very attractive image.
The 1Dmk3 is very tempting for the high ISO quality. I regularly shoot at ISO800/1600 with the 5D, which is largely noise free and gives great images, but the 1Dmk3 seems to take this a step further.
cheers

Very Very NICE David
ISO 640 - who'd Adam 'n Eve it - I was playing with a mk3 on Monday, it's a bit 'yummy' isn't it - I couldn't get over the screen size, I've seen smaller family TV's in the Argos catologue
But this high iso performance looks very good - even if you don't submitt to them it would be interesting to know what OSF and Alamy make of the images.
And I thought a peacock was a bird..... Welcome to the MarkIII club, David - hope you get lots of joy with it

PS: Great to chat with you & thanks for putting the Shooting Mag Man in my direction, I took a fresh batch of shots this evening for them, hopefully they will use one of the shots I sent them. All the best
impressive colours and detail, and composition and light isn't all that bad either. So at least some credit should go to photographer not only his new toy .
