Nice Alan. So this 11 shot stacking business..... is it the same shot just converted/processed differently and then merged in PS? Interesting stuff!

Hi Graeme.
What i do is set up how the frame is going to look. Then select a shallow f number(f5 for example). Then with small turns of the focus ring, start at the near'st part of the subject to the lens and work my way back. The shallower the f number is, the smaller the turn of the focus ring.Which will increase the number of shots.
Then i put all the shots into a program that puts them all together.
Alot of ones i have tried DO NOT stack out right. So everything has to be right at the time of shooting(wind and all that).
Ahhhhh.... nice one! What programme does that? Seems a bit hit and miss with natural subjects as you say the elements will have an effect. I suspect this is suited to studio type work as it would work faultlessly no doubt. really well done. I appreciate the skill level now

Hi Alan
That works very well. The detail in the flower is amazing, and the B&W conversion adds a new dimension. There is something painterly about the whole effect, which I really like.
Hello Alan
I find your work both innovative and enlightening. This is another excellent example which I think works really well. Thanks for posting.
Best wishes

10 repliesThe flowers are of red Geraniums.I did'nt like how strong the red was, so i converted the image to B&W.
As you can see via the 11 shots layer'd together, you get a 3D'ish, sharp all over subject.
