I am looking for a way to improve my photo skills and one of my friend photographers recomended NYIP to me. However, I would like to hear a second opinion on that.
Does anybody have any experience with, or hear anything about, this school?

Did you post this is the general discussion forum? I seem to recall some NPN folks mentioning that they'd been through this course...
I went through NYIP several years ago (circa 1997/98). I was worried that it was going to be corny, but it was actually a very complete in instruction, and getting audio feedback from a working pro on each of the assignments was nice. There was nothing about shooting digital in their program then, but I suspect they have updated their materials. At the time, the materials looked like they were printed in the 70s, but the information was really good. It starts out very basic and progresses.
I would recommend it if you are fairly new to photography.
