Okay, here is the result from my creating a double mat action. Any thoughts on this? The action is done, but I haven't inserted the "stops" yet (where you can make modifications to mat and frame size) so it isn't on the download page.
If this double mat looks good, I'll finish it up sometime Thursday for download.
Let me know if you have any suggestions, such as, should there be a little more white space between the two bevels?
well if we're talking actual mats, the bevel could be smaller and the space between the mats larger. it's usually about 1/16" bevel and a 1/4" space, but i often use 3/8" and 1/2" for larger pieces (in the real world)
customization of these features would make you famous in the frame/mat action world for sure, heck even make triple matted with color accent a feature while you're at it.
I can certainly make the bevel smaller, on both actions if that might be appropriate. It certainly isn't to scale of a real world mat, but most web display mats seem to have that wider bevel showing, perhaps a thinner one would be appropriate. I could many of the things you mentioned adjustable by the user, but at some point it makes the action a little cumbersome with instruction pop-ups.
Here is the double mat action with a slightly larger space between the inner and outer mat, and a slightly beefier frame. I think this one looks pretty good. Opinions?
