Fighting shorebirds
A Little Ringed Plover having a minor dispute with a Wood Sandpiper.

Some of my favorite motives is when I get interaction between different species. Those events are rare and you can not plan or setup those shots. Angle is a bit high here, and distance also a bit too much. I was shooting out of the car window over a fence, and couldn't get any closer. The Plover was nesting in the area while the Sandpiper was migrating through, they kept bumping into each other when eating.

Taken in Denmark in May.

20D + 500/4; iso400, f5, 1/2000, cropped 50%.

You never know Helge, these two if they keep bumbing into each other might end up as friends

The interaction you have captured here is great & as you said, something you can never plan for.

Brilliantly captured & exposed Helge :toast: :toast:
