Desert in the Navajo Lands
It's another "no subject" shot, I know... But I drove over 50 miles on the best gravel road I've ever been on (better than a freeway!), and could not prevent my jaw from dropping at the sight of the colors, the sky, the geologic formations, the elegance amid such a harsh environment.

D200, 24-120 @ 52mm; f16, 1/80s, handheld.
In ACR- gnd effect (amazement has a way of making me forget to use my equipmennt and tools properly!); CS3 for normal post processing.

Comments welcome. Thanks.

I quite like this Catherine. I did notice that there is no real focal point but, the colors are beautiful and it works for me. Good job making something out of it.

My first thought was "rats, the sky's blown" but as I look at it, it's got a kind of dreamy feel. I like it. nice work Catherine!

I'll echo han's comment on there not being much of a focal point, but I do like the various clouds in the sky. Also, that area holds quite a variety of parched-desert foliage.

The light feeling puffy clouds feel a little dreamy which I like, along with the desert colors. I have to agree about the no center of interest. Yet I can also side with you about wanting to share image with the story of what it took to get there and or get the image. I think we can all appreciate that!
