Wednesday I upgraded my Norton Internet Security 2006 to 2007 because my update period was running out. Now I can not upload photos to my gallery here or to another photo website I visit. It times out and gives the "This page can not be displayed" message. I assume it has to do with the security settings in probably either the firewall or intrusion detection but in the breif amout of time I have had to look I can't figure out what settings to change. I also tried to turn off the firewall to upload and it still did not work. Have any of you been through this with Norton I S 2007. I had no problems at all with 2006. I have no problems surfing these sites or obviously in posting to the forums. It is in the transfer of the photo file from my computer to the site server.

Hey Bruce, A couple of years ago I had my entire system crash and I lost everything on the hard drive (thank God for back-ups). When the tech guy worked on the machine he told me the worst thing I could do was use Norton because of all the periphery stuff that loads with it. He uses "AVG FREE" for virus as well as Anti-Spywear. I was suspicious so I called around to other computer geeks and they all told me not to use Norton. 7 out of 10 used AVG. I have been using AVG for two years and have yet to encounter a problem. The good thing is that as the name implies "IT'S FREE". I realize this hasn't solved your problem - but it might give you another way to go.

Thanks for the reply Merle. I too have heard good things about AVG. I even downloaded it and ran a virus scan about two months ago because I had been told It would find issues that Norton would not. It did not find anything so I took it as a good sign since two programs had both found nothing. I thought I would keep AVG and Norton both, then I tried to receive email and it would not connect I tried three times and still nothing. I then uninstalled the AVG and tried and it worked fine. Now I'm not saying that to say AVG is no good just that there are conflicts with both installed. I have been using Norton for years and so far no major problems.

Anyway on a good note, I went to the other website and the webmaster asked if I was still having issues. Since I had not tried for the last two days due to working late I decided to try again before giving him an answer. When I did it uploaded fine to my gallery there so I came here and tried to upload it into a post in the SENP regional forum and it also worked fine doing that. I still do not know what the issue was and since I had tried for two days in a row with no luck I just knew it had to be the new Norton program. Oh well, shows how much I know.

Hey Bruce - I think it's just those little gremlins that live in our computers to keep us humble. Glad it's wooking for you.
