Life on a wind swept moor (last of the Stonechats for a while)

This isn't the best of the series, but the one that made me smile the most.

The posture and expresssion just summed up a "I'm having a bad day - it was beating with heat, rained torrentially, the midges where out in force then the wind picked up quite strong - to cap it all of there was this guy with a large lense sitting, fidgeting, nearest the best perch and my feathers are fuffled"

600mm/TC1.4/Tpod
250ASA/125'/F5.6
Just sharpened and it is 50% ( a vertical crop) of my frame i.e 8.3M,

The colour behind is the heather.

He certainly does look a little bit bedraggled.
A very nice shot with a really nice (cute) looking pose. Love the purple backdrop too.

Poor little mite :frown:

The tail dragging on the ground adds to the bedraggled feel, and sums up their windswept life in these habitats.

Great shot to compliment any pristine plumaged shots of these chaps!
