Lilies at a water garden
This is from a camera club field trip to a nearby commercial water garden that sells water plants, etc. We had a lot of fun until it got too hot to stand - the flowers were really great.

Canon 20D
ISO 100
100mm macro
1/40th @f/8.0

Thanks for looking!

Nice capture. It looks like it is lighted from within. Brilliant colors.

This is very cool. It does indeed glow from within. I really like the detail in the center.

Wonderful Tim, what's the light source? Try as I might I've rarely been satisfied with my waterlilly shots but I'd be proud to call this one mine! :toast:

Tim, beautiful capture!

Wayne: the light source was the best one - the big ol' rising sun. Without modification, it lit the top of the plant as well, so I moved my hand to block it out since it was just too harsh.

Beautiful, Tim! Incredible depth and detail, and I love the color. Did you have to stack several images to get that much depth at f/8?

Thanks for all of the comments! Light makes or breaks an image, and I knew the light was OK in this one.

Bill: It's a single shot, and in the full-size sharpened image, the center is just slightly soft, but not noticeably so.
