That's lots of focal length! Your techs are perfect indeed. And what a lovely subject. I just wonder, what causes pink background? Heather probably.

Cheers,
Marko

Absolutely first class. Composition and details excellent and what a pose. We don't get these lovely birds locally and whenever I've seen them I've never been fortunate enough to have the right lens with me.

Hi Marko thanks for the comments and you are quite right it is heather in the BG.

Very nice indeed, a little 'tad' large in the frame, is the BG heather?

John, Beautiful work as always! Did you use a hide/camo for this shot?

Regards Chris.

Very nice cap John :toast: :toast:

Maybe I'd agree with Tom - it is a tad 'large in frame' - I'd have liked a bit more room especially to the left of frame, but a great image all the same :toast:

Hi John

Maybe a tad large in the frame but everything else, colours, detail, perch, BG and prey item are spot on!

Superb John and in case you are interested, that looks like an Emperor Moth larvae it's having for lunch (feeds on Heather amongst other plants)

Hi Guys thanks for your comments. I used a hide to get the picture and Barrie thanks for identifying the caterpillar. :toast:

Superb shot in every way, for me too, a little large in frame though.

A touch large in the frame for my taste (that is personal obviously) but a cracking shot of a super bird, the meal is certainly the icing on the cake....

Erm.. have you changed gear?

Touch big for me too, but the canvas could be added to if you fancied it. Great shot though John :toast:
