Sunrise this morning in the Palouse...
Nice to get a shot somewhat like what you envisioned every once in a while.
All comments welcome, thanks!

Other than the telephone poles, I like it. I'd vote for a crop below them (just above the top burned field on the left). I grew up in this area and remember, even at a young age, appreciating the deep black of a burned field when contrasted to surrounding yellow and gold fields of stubble. I don't remember the crop, but sometimes a green field next to yellow and black. Beautiful. During burning season, the smoke can create such intensely red light. Look at all the memories your photo has stirred . Nice work. I love the foreground fields.

I agree, crop about in inch or so off the top and hang it on your wall.....interesting to see the orange/yellow and not the green/yellow you usually see in this area!
Well done!

Very different than most Palouse shots that I've seen, but nice in a different way, although I admit I like it better when it's greener. Is that only in the spring? Anyone know how it looks towards fall? Does any color come back?

Gorgeous! That's an amazing palette. I like the comp how it is.

Compositionally, the crop is intentional in order to add some sense of scale and not make the image too abstract. Artistically, cropping the horizon is definitly something to consider, but selling a more abstract print at an art show is another matter...
My personal ethic is really uncomfortable with cloning out the telephone poles. I know everybody around here seems to be pretty casual about photoshopping almost anything, anytime, all the time, (no offense, it's your art,) but I must have read just way too much Galen Rowell.
Darien, EVERYBODY'S got the green ones. If everybody's photos all look the same, what's the point? Right? (The real answer is, I just wasn't up there when it was green, but I'll be going back!)
Thanks Jack!
And thanks everyone! I appreciate the input!
