Here is sunrise at Wild Goose Island, in Glacier National Park taken Aug 9th. The weather there is very hot during the day 90's, cold at night 30's, and no rain for quite some time. There were also many forest fires in the area and the smoke settled in the valleys quite well. At this particular shot location there was a black bear, about 30ft behind us, eating berries earlier that morning...(sorry no shots of the bear, too dark)

It is actually strait. It just appears tilted due to the shape of the lake. You ain't kidding about those clouds! I've spent about 10-12 days near here in the past year waiting for such a great show as well. Some areas are a bit too saturated in the blues though IMO. I'd warm things up a bit. It seems you've done some cropping too. If there's anything more left in the file on the left side, I might like to see just a bit more over there. An impressive shot overall from a classic location.

I agree that the sky is a tad over saturated but if you have the raw file this shot could be absolutly stunning with a little more (or less) processing.

Glacier is an amazing park. I visited it a couple years ago when I got my first camera, and I can't wait to go back. What a glorious moment of magic to witness. The comp captures it well and showcases the clouds to advantage. Along with the black bear eating berries, it's hard to top a morning like this. Although it was probably this saturated in real life (or more saturated), it looks like there is some detail loss in the mountains on the left in the most saturated parts. Maybe turning the saturation down selectively could improve those parts? It doesn't kill the image for me--I'm just looking to suggest some way to improve it...
Thanks for the comments everyone and yes the reds are way to saturated...Oops. I figured out that the profile converted terribly from Prophoto RGB to sRGB. Here is a different perspective of the same image. I hope this is much better... I had to clone out the 2 people that were in the lower left of the image (moving all around)

WOW! Stunning difference between the two. It's not even close. #2 by a mile here. One of the best renditions of this place I have ever seen. Why on earth were you messing around with that first image anyway? This is worth really taking some time and doing some careful cloning before you print it!
Yep, #2 is darn near perfect. It's really well balanced.

#2 all the way. I hated #1...OK, well...not hated...but it did make me a bit like I was going to yammie in a handbag due to the over saturation.

The 2nd one is great Dave. The color tones are much better and the perspective makes the first one look like HALF of a great shot! Nice work. Only nit I have now is that I'd like to see it as big as the 1st version. Actually, you may be able to get away with a bit more saturation in the vegetation.

This is a stunning shot, although the reds are blowing out on my monitor. I hope to be there someday.
I'm gonna have to buy some Adamus clouds. Is that at Amazon?

Congrats on the picture of the week. The revision is pretty darn good.
