I shot this July 28,'07 early in the morning on the fence bordering the neighbors pasture. 20D 1/125, f/5.6, ISO 200, 28-135 at 100mm. I don't have the requisite drops of dew on the web, but here it is anyway.

See Merle, that's what that little mist bottle I carrry around is for! Sometimes you just have to improvise. This is a really nice web "shot" and that is some serious heavy duty thread! Nice job!
Very cool! What a neat find. The spiders in my yard just make big long strands without the beautiful round parts. I agree with Wayne - get a mister and carry with you. I've done it with many of my flora shots. But this is nice even without "dew".

Hey Merle, I like your shot, especially the soothing green background. I think I walked through about 100 of these webs this past weekend out near Spy Rock but none were this nice!

Thanks all. I appreciate it. I didn't think about using a mister - but if I had - it was a long walk back to the house and by the time I would have returned the light would have been gone. I shot this the same morning I did the previously posted "Foggy Sunrise" and had walked to the pond with only my camera and a cup of coffee. I guess I could have done a "mouth spritz" with coffee, but, no, brown moisture wouldn't have looked right. I didn't realize how tough it is to shoot spider webs until I tried it a few times. Thanks to digital I can keep trying without breaking the bank.
